The SEM Lab is located in West Waters Hall, Room 28.  You may also contact the operator, Kent Hampton at (785) 532-4724 or by e-mail at sworm@ksu.edu. Normally, it is best to communicate by email. Be sure to include some reference to SEM in the subject line of any email. During periods of heavy use, it may also be necessary to schedule the critical point dryer.

EDS On-campus user $150.00 / hour

SEM Off-campus user $150.00 / hour

EDS Off-campus $184.00 / hour

Potential users and other interested parties are encouraged to contact Kent to talk about their research needs. The operator will be glad to talk to you about how SEM might aid in your research and to conduct tours of the lab for interested groups or individuals.

Custom work may be done should the researcher wish to purchase his own detector for the electron microscope or standard for elemental analysis on the Oxford Inca energy analysis system.
